Keep Your Perfect Pout in Place
A bold lip shade sounds fab in theory, but if you’ve ever worn a bold lipstick to a party then you know that it can be tough to keep it place all night. Lipsticks, no matter what color, will rub off on things- collars, (other) lips, teeth, glasses… the list goes on. The only difference is that when you’re wearing a statement color, the wear and tear of your lipstick is a lot a more noticeable. Afraid of a lipstick mishap halfway through your office holiday party? These holiday party lipstick tricks will keep your lips in perfect shape all night long!
#1. Keep your lips to yourself
Avoid transferring your holiday party lipstick to the cheeks of your loved ones by setting it with a translucent matte powder, or a powder blush that’s a similar color. This trick will mattify your lipstick and reduce moisture, which will prevent it from transferring onto other surfaces.
#2. Don’t get it on your glass
Though the powder trick should work to stop lipstick transfer onto your glass, you can also try this: lick the rim before you take a sip. Makeup.com says that “your saliva will act as a barrier and prevent the lipstick from coming off on the glass.”
#3. Don’t compromise your photo ops
The biggest risk with wearing a bold lip is posing for a picture (don’t try to avoid it, it’s inevitable) and later realizing that your smile revealed a mouthful of berry- stained teeth. To avoid this nightmare, put your clean index finger in your mouth, close your lips around it, and slide it out. This will remove any remaining lipstick on the inside on your lips, and save your pearly whites from being stained.
