Growing Up Hip Hop star Angela Simmons took to Instagram recently to share a post-pregnancy picture of herself, makeup free.
The reality TV star showed off her natural beauty with a selfie, wearing a black tank top and messy hair. The caption read: “Good morning!!! From the real me in the am lol!! Messy hair and all”
Simmons received positive comments after she posted her makeup-free look to all of her Instagram followers.
The Growing Up Hip Hop star—who is the daughter of Run D.M.C.’s Rev. Run — gave birth to her son and first child, Sutton Joseph Tennyson, in October. He was named after his father, and Simmons’ fiancé, Atlanta businessman Sutton Tennyson.
“We thought we had another month to get the nursery ready,” Simmons, 29, said in an issue of People, of what she and fiancé Sutton Tennyson, 35, had been planning to accomplish before baby Sutton’s arrival on Sept. 22.
Simmons was originally secretive about her fiancé but took to Instagram to tell the world the good news that she could no longer hold inside earlier this year.
“YES!! I couldn’t be more excited,” she captioned a video showing off the ring. “This is only something I could of only dreamed of. I’m over the moon and feeling so blessed to be able to share my life with the one I truly love. Everything happened in the most perfect way. [sic]”
After she announced her engagement, she took to Instagram to reveal the news of her pregnancy.
She captioned the picture, “We are overjoyed and super excited to receive a blessing this big! Starting a family was something that I could have only dreamed of.”
Angela Simmons’ Makeup Look
Being a mom has its rewards, but just because Simmons is a mother, doesn’t mean that she’s just going to throw out her makeup. For those looking for Simmons’ look, you’re in luck, because the reality star’s makeup artist, Sharon Renee, was willing to share her secrets with Essence magazine.
When Renee wanted to get Simmons ready for the Hip-Hop Inaugural Ball, she wanted the focus to be on her red lips, so she used neutral-colored eye shadows. Renee used Blacktrack Fluidline Liner by MAC ($15.00, MAC Cosmetics) to create a winged line on her eyelid, and used an angled brush.
Renee moisturized Simmons’ lips with Aveda’s Lip Saver ($8.50, Aveda), before adding color. “I only used a lip liner because I wanted the color to stay for a long period of time without the drying effect of using a matte textured lipstick,” Renee told Essence.
Since Simmons likes a dewy look on her cheeks, Renee put on a small amount of blush from Ambering Rose by MAC ($20.00, MAC Cosmetics), which added a bit of shimmer and “gives a natural rosy look” on the apples of her cheeks.
