Simmons loves the versatility of weaves, but since she likes changing up her looks often, she will only keep one in for about a month at most. To maintain her hair, she says, “I just keep it braided up a lot. For the most part I stay in the hair salon a lot and get my hair done a lot so I kind of lean on my hairdressers for that. So for the most part, when I go, I do deep conditioners and sit under a dryer or steamer.”

Simmons hasn’t always had healthy hair—she explained to the magazine that a bad bleaching experience damaged some of her hair. “had a blonde weave, you know I had that moment where I wanted to go blonde. And I bleached some of my hair and it broke off and that was a bad idea.” She recommends not bleaching your hair, but to help repair damage, she recommends using Morrocan oil. “It’s amazing,” she said.

The celebrity used to get her hair chemically straightened, but she hasn’t done that in years. “I just figured that I didn’t really need it,” she explained. Simmons wanted to stay away from the chemicals, so instead of damaging her natural hair with products, she prefers using weaves. When asked if she would ever let her natural hair out and rock the big hairstyles, she responded, “You mean without flat-ironing it? No . . . I work out a lot and travel a lot.” She says her natural hair is too much of a hassle to deal with, so she prefers leaving the hard work to her hairstylist.

Simmons’ Instagram page is full of photos and snaps of her at the gym—now that she has her baby boy, Sutton Joseph, she definitely has her hands full!
