It seems that the “Dangerous Woman” singer, Ariana Grande, is still rocking her infamous ponytail: but this time, it’s a blonde braided ponytail. The hair transformation comes just in time for fall; with rich browns and blonde highlights, the singer’s hair dye fits perfectly with the season.
Grande’s Hair Makeover
The long ponytail isn’t much of a hair transformation for Grande. She’s been rocking a long ponytail since she entered the music scene. If you’ve ever wondered why the singer prefers that hairstyle, it’s because when she was on the show Sam and Ca,t she would always dye her hair a bright red. Years of this led to her hair getting extremely damaged. Grande got so much backlash and comments about her ponytail that she actually took to her Twitter account three years ago to address it. She wrote,
“Since people give me such a hard time about my hair I thought I’d take the time to explain the whole situation to everybody. I had to bleach my hair and dye it red every other week for the first 4 years of playing Cat… as one would assume, that completely destroyed my hair. I now wear a wig on Sam & Cat. My real hair is back to brown and I wear extensions but I wear it in a pony tail because my actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down. I tried wigs, they looked RIDICULOUS. Tried a weave because I am working on a new project and want to try some different looks and literally wanted to rip my scalp off. So as annoying as it is for y’all to have to look at the same hair style all the time, it’s all that works for now (AND I’m comfortable for the first time in years)…. And trust me, it’s even more difficult for me to have to wait forever for my natural hair to grow back and to have to wear more fake hair than every drag queen on earth combined. So PLEASE gimme a break about the hair (or just don’t look at me lol). IT’S JUST HAIR AFTER ALL. There are way way way more important things. Love y’all very much.”
Some time has passed since Grande underwent a hair makeover that allowed her to be able to flaunt her natural hair—which, by the way, is curly. She revealed her natural curly hair Instagram, so it’s good to see that years of damage are finally healing. Even still, Grande rocks her staple ponytail which now seems longer than ever—it reaches her waist!
Her hairdresser Chris Appleton posted the images of Grande’s new ponytail, stating that he changed up the color and added subtle side braids.
The new hairdo was paired with natural-looking makeup which complimented the fall tones in the hair. Her makeup artist was Daniel Chinchilla, and he focused on highlighting Grande’s cheekbones while using bronze eyeshadows and a neutral matte lipstick to tie the look together.
So what do you think? Are you over Ariana Grande’s ponytail, or do you think she rocks it? Needless to say, it has become Grande’s signature look, so if she ever did undergo a real hair transformation fans would probably be very shocked.
