Did Kendall Jenner, Joan Smalls, and Lily Aldridge get tattoos for V Magazine’s latest magazine cover? Well, yes and no. You see, these ladies all showed off major tattoos for the V Magazine shoot, but the good news is that they were all fake. Yup, even the large snake tattoo on Jenner’s thigh. Totally fake! Although the magazine shoot made it appear that the women were getting inked on the spot, turns out it was just all for show.

The idea behind the cover shoot was to capture one of fashion’s biggest permanent obsessions: tattoos. Tattoo artist Jensai Chen was responsible for the tattoo art the ladies wore on their body, and it was all captured by Mario Testino. One thing is for sure: Jenner, Smalls, and Aldridge all looked pretty bad ass with all that ink.

Chen explained that coming up with the tattoo drawings was quite the process, as he spent an hour and a half on each piece developing the artwork. In an interview with V, Chen said: “The way I work with it is that I’ll have a drawing; I’ll make a stencil of it and the stencil is made out of the same things that we do for real tattoos, so that goes onto the skin and instead of me using a needle and ink, I just use paint and airbrushing. Depending on what each girl got, the tattoo could have run anywhere from a half hour to an hour and a half. Kendall’s was very large with a lot of line work.”

Kendall Jenner’s Beauty Routine

The V Magazine cover shoot is just the beginning for Jenner in 2017 as it seems the young model has quite the busy year ahead of her. She’s been going nonstop since November of last year, when she filmed the VS Fashion Show. But it doesn’t look like Jenner will be slowing down in 2017. As Jenner’s modeling career continues to take off, let’s take a look at how she manages to look so flawless – in front of and behind the camera lens.

Jenner’s beauty seems effortless and, really, her beauty secrets are pretty simple. Jenner lives by three basic principles when it comes to beauty and skin care: Never touch your face, never pick your face, and wear eye cream.

As for Jenner’s beauty look and the makeup palette she helped develop, she explained in an interview with Byrdie: “I love a good, natural brown smoky eye, so there’s a good amount of browns in there. And I had to throw in the classic black smoky eye, and purple is one of my favorite colors. It’s fun! There’s a black light set up too.”

As for her hair, Jenner normally keeps it’s pretty simple with a part down the middle. And for those wondering if she would stray from her straight locks, she had this to say about switching up her do: “I’m comfortable with my hair right now, so we’ll see what ends up happening. Never say never!”

Her beauty routines consist of frequently washing her face a few times a day and she admitted that she’s not daring when it comes to her beauty look. She suggests that she’s pretty lazy but can be OCD about face-washing as a result of wearing so much makeup throughout the day.

She says most of the beauty secrets she follows are from her Kardashian sisters, who relay tips to both Kylie and Kendall to help the girls prevent any skin or beauty faux-pas that they did.

As you can see, Kendall Jenner is pretty no-fuss when it comes to looking her best, and yet, she continuously looks so effortlessly beautiful. We’re sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of Jenner throughout 2017 as her career continues to flourish.
