There was one face less in the flock at this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. That’s right, Cara Delevingne was missing from the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2016. Sometime ago, British magazine, The Sun, began rumors that said Delevingne was “too bloated” for the Victoria’s Secret runway. She shut down all body shamming responses in an Instagram post. Cara Delevingne posted an apology letter from VS producer, Ed Razek, on her Instagram.
In the letter, Razek, rebuffs all tabloid rumors and further extends an open invitation to the model. He wrote, “If you are free on November 30, please join us in Paris. As always, we’d love to have you. No casting necessary!” Delevingne, 24, also criticized the ethics of journalism in her post.
Cara Delevingne’s Reason behind Skipping the VSFS
In spite of the humble invite, Cara Delevingne was missing from the VSFS 2016. Instead of the show, the British model appeared on her sister, Poppy Delevingne’s Snapchat around the showtime. Apparently, Delevingne was flying to Maldives with her gal pals.
In 2014, Cara Delevingne was shooting for the film, Paper Towns, around the VSFS time, and as such, couldn’t feature in the lingerie fashion show then. However, the media speculated her absence as rejection from the show and body shammed her, calling her too fat to be a VS angel.
Cara Delevingne has made a swift transition from modeling to movies. Recently she appeared in the latest DC Comic movie, Suicide Squad, so it’s understandable if she passes up strutting on the Victoria’s Secret runway to wind up in Maldives with friends.
