Recently, comedian and talk show host Chelsea Handler revealed her incredible anti-aging secret on Instagram. It is called fractional laser treatment, and is highly effective!
The star shared two pictures with her nearly three million Instagram followers; one was the “Before,” and the other was the “After” picture. The “Before” picture was snapped immediately after the procedure, showing the aftermath of the treatment, and the “After” was most likely taken a day or two later to showcase the end results.
Fractional laser treatment entails the dermatologist pointing a laser at various problem areas on your face, in order to burn off the damaged surface layer of the skin, and allow new collagen to replace it. The purpose is to reduce the look of, and eventually completely eradicate, acne scars and other types of scarring, dark spots, sun damage, skin pigmentation, wrinkles, and crow’s feet. The specific type of treatment done by Chelsea Handler is called ProFractional Laser treatment, and it looks like it worked wonders for her face and neck!
For those of you who are a little squeamish about having lasers within such close proximity to your face, rest assured that the procedure is completely safe as long as you go to a professional, and experienced plastic surgeon, according to celebrity dermatologist, Dr. Bruce Katz. The best part is that this procedure has a very quick recovery time, and Handler looks like a whole new woman! According to Dr. Katz, it takes about two days for the scarring from the lasers to fully heal and, while there may be some redness, you can cover it up with some make up immediately after the treatment.
The comparison in Chelsea Handler’s Instagram post is extraordinary. In the “Before” picture, she looks her age, which is 41 by the way, whereas in the “After” picture, she looks nearly 10 years younger.
Now, you may be wondering what the cost of this miracle anti-aging remedy is. Dr. Katz estimated that based on Handler’s photos, she spent anywhere from $1,000-1,800 per appointment, and she most likely had to do about 3-4 sessions in total. So, in total, Handler spent anywhere between $3,000-7,000 to do the ProFractional Laser treatment. It may have cost her a pretty penny, but it was well worth it because the results are absolutely astounding.
Her skin looks rejuvenated, and like she has not aged at all in the last 10 years. Ever since she posted the pictures, Chelsea Handler’s Instagram has been blowing up with compliments from fans, some even stating that they are considering it for themselves: “This is interesting… I must do research.”
Of course, even though the treatment is safe, celebrity dermatologists have warned patients that while ProFractional Laser treatment does help reduce the appearance of aging, it does not stop the process by any means. In a nutshell, you should only pursue this particular anti-aging remedy if you are prepared to take on the potentially high costs of it, because in some cases, multiple sessions might be required. Also, it is highly advised that you research the clinic you are planning on going to prior to having the procedure done, to make sure that their dermatologists and physicians are fully capable of doing it. The last thing you want is to spend all this money only to have your face altered in an undesirable way.
