Considering how much Emily Ratajkowski’s fame has grown over the past few years, it is hard to believe that the renowned actress and model does not go out on Friday nights all that often.

The 25-year-old model, who made her breakout appearance in Robyn Thicke’s highly controversial music video for the song “Blurred Lines,” claims that she tends to keep her weekends very low key. The few times that she does go out, she uses what has become her signature Friday night beauty look, and she was kind enough to share a few of her favorite eye products, as well as hair and make-up tips, with her Instagram followers in an interview with online magazine, Into the Gloss.

Ratajkowski has proven time and time again that she has some serious beauty skills, and that her makeup secrets are a force to be reckoned with in the modeling world. Unlike most models and actresses, she does her own hair and makeup, even for red carpet events. “I love having a glass of wine and taking my time to do it—that’s really fun for me,” she told Into the Gloss during her interview on October 21st, 2016.

Ratajkowski’s Tips

She has a serious talent for figuring out what looks good for her and accentuating those qualities, using them to her advantage without compromising her own personal style and comfort in the process. Her typical makeup regimen consists of little to no foundation, creating a glowing skin effect and adding a classic cat eye-smoky eye hybrid.

First, she completely washes her face—even if she was already wearing makeup that day—and starts from scratch for her tried and true evening look. On this particular Friday night, she was heading to a friend’s event in Los Angeles and decided to keep her makeup routine simple.

Ratajkowski stated that she does not usually wear foundation, but she was in the mood to use it that night, so she applied a thin layer of Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation and decided to forgo the bronzer. Next, she applied Givenchy Hydra Sparking Magic Lip and Cheek Balm to her face right before illuminating her skin with the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow highlighter. This works well to achieve a dewy, hydrated effect for the skin.

Emily Ratajkowski loves the Charlotte Tilbury brand so much that they even created a lipstick that was inspired by the model, called Hot Emily. To accomplish her sultry eye makeup look, she uses Charlotte Tilbury Eye Palette in Dolce Vita, applying the lightest hue to both of her eyelids, adding a reddish-brown shade around the eyes and then blending the two together for an effortlessly chic rock star effect. A touch of liquid eyeliner is used to create a lovely cat-eye that completes her eye makeup look.

In terms of styling her hair, Ratajkowski’s mantra seems to be a little goes a long way. Because her hair is naturally pin-straight, she likes to curl it a little and then brush through the curls to give her hair a messy wavy look. Normally she uses a mixture of Living Proof Instant Texture Mist and Bumble and Bumble Prêt-à-Powder. Having run out of the latter product, she substituted it with baby powder instead, which smells awful but still gets the job done. Once again, Emily Ratajkowski has proven to the world that she is a style guru, and her product recommendations are well appreciated.
