Best Golden Globes Moments of 2017
- Sofia Vergara
This Cover Girl brand ambassador knows how to step out on the red carpet. The ageless 44-year-old Modern Family Star rocked a subtle yet glowing makeup look. Her eyes were the focal point of the look, sporting long lashes and dark brows. Vergara kept her lips matte and neutral to ensure that all eyes were on her eyes.
Breaking her own rule of no updos on the red carpet, Vergara had her hair pulled back in a tight slick high ponytail. She didn’t want to compete with her beautiful sparkly gold long-sleeve Zuhair Murad Couture embroidered gown with cold-shoulder cutouts and the 150 karats of Lorraine Schwartz nude diamonds she was draped in.
- Emma Stone
The red-haired actress literally sparkled in Valentino while her makeup displayed a subtle glitzy look. Soft and pretty, the actress had highlighted eyes with a metallic silver shadow and porcelain like skin, which was accented by a pretty matte pink lip.
Her beautiful auburn hair was lifted up into a rolled chignon across the nape of her neck. Her stylist started the beautiful style by adding voluminous curls to give her hair the right amount of lift needed for the updo. It was then separated into sections, rolled up, and pinned into place. Some soft side strands of hair were left hanging to frame her face.
- Gal Gadot
Showing off her baby bump on the red carpet, Gal Gadot made an entrance in a stunning black and silver sparkling gown. With defined eyes, the actress kept her makeup look fairly simple, finishing it with a subtle pink lip.
The 31-year-old actress kept her hair simple in a twisted rope braid. Pulled back tight and sleek, the hairstyle made sure not to take away from the glittering gown.
- Reese Witherspoon
Having a golden moment in a stunning buttery-yellow gown, Witherspoon kept her look simple with a soft smoky eye mixed with shimmering silver metallic eyeshadow shades. The look was finished with a slight pink cheek and soft rose lipstick.
The actress complimented her natural makeup look with a low knot chignon that parted off to the side. A few face-framing soft waves were left out to the right side.
- Chrissy Teigen
There is nothing sexier than a dark red raspberry lip on the red carpet, and supermodel Chrissy Teigen pulled off the look impeccably. Her bold lip was accented with dark smoky eyes and heavy brows. Keeping her hair simple, the model wore her long locks pulled back into a sleek high ponytail.
- Lily Collins
Adding a touch of fairytale princess glamor, Lily Collins stepped out looking glamorous on the red carpet in an elaborately embroidered floral chiffon Zuhair Mura gown. Her matte red lipstick and pink eyeshadow paired perfectly with the dress.
An intricate plaited bun added sophistication to Collin’s overall princess look. Her textured hair was pulled up into a top knot and accented with small braids.
- Emily Ratajkowski
A glamorous Ratajkowski stepped on the red carpet with impeccable style and grace. The young actresses makeup complimented her golden gown with eyeshadow shades of peach.
Her hair fooled fans as it was pinned up to resemble a shoulder length bob. Slight waves were added to give extra volume. Most thought the actress had cut her trademark sexy, long locks, but the updo was merely an optical illusion.
- Amy Adams
When it comes to red carpet makeup, Amy Adams is a pro at keeping it on trend but staying chic and sophisticated. Silvery smoky eyes were the focus of the actresses makeup, keeping the rest of the look neutral.
Her hair was left sleek and straight, and was pulled back behind her shoulders. The actress was a true icon of sophisticated glamour.
Congratulations to my bae and her films #NocturnalAnimals #Arrival . Has been nominations for 9 @BAFTA Awards!! I don't know how to explain this!!! - Brie Larson
A red Rodarte beaded gown is what Brie Larson chose for the Golden Globes, and she was the talk of the town in her old Hollywood style! A lady in red always turns heads, especially if she has a red lip to match. The actress matched the shade of her lipstick perfectly to her raspberry red gown and had highlighted eyes with a light smoke effect. Her hair was styled in waterfall Hollywood waves.
- Kristen Bell
This is one actress who knows how to do the ultimate smoky eye. A traditional blend of dark grays and blacks were blended to create the eye look, which was finished to the brow with a peach toned shadow. The eye look was paired with a subtle matte peach lip.
The actress wore a sparkling black dress with a plunging necklace to show off her petite figure. Her signature medium-length platinum blonde locks were worn flowing over her shoulders.
- Riley Keough
The actress walked the carpet in a black and white Chanel pleated dress. Her makeup looks complemented the gown with the bright pop of color on the lip and a slightly darker eye. Keough wore her hair pulled back into a textured updo creating an overall edgy rock chic look.
- Maisie Williams
A neutral plum gloss on the lip and defined, prominent brows were the focus of Maisie Williams makeup look at this year’s Golden Globes. The young actress looked like a ray of sunshine in her long yellow gown walking the red carpet.
Her hair was pulled up in a textured top knot that had a slight chic messy look to it. It was accessorized with a silver metal hair clip that resembled a small tiara.
- Anna Kendrick
A deep side part stole the show with her sculpted hairstyle. The part, in juxtaposition to the one-sided strap dress, created a beautiful illusion to the overall look. Polished and glamorous, the star kept her makeup simple and elegant with a dark eye created with deep browns and taupe shadows, and finished the look with a deep, sultry lip.
- Blake Lively
When it comes to red carpet makeup, Blake Lively always stays on trend. The actress stepped out at this year’s awards wearing a neutral palate of makeup, including a slight pink cheek and a slight smoke to the eye. The look was finished with a perfect pink lip that had just the right amount of shine. Her slicked back updo was also on trend this season, which helped her look stay polished and flawless.
- Natalie Portman
No stranger to the red carpet, Natalie Portman always strays a little from conventional looks and adds her artistic flare. This year was no exception as the star stepped out in a chartreuse Prada maternity gown. Her look was completed with a sleek half up, half down hairdo and simple natural makeup that focused on her light pink lip.
- Gina Rodriguez
The beautiful actress opted for Hollywood glamour at the Golden Globes, and achieved it, spot on. From her standout sparkly Naeem Khan halter gown to her flawless hair and makeup, this was one celebrity that landed on all the best-dressed lists. Her neutral makeup was so subtle that it almost looked makeup fresh free, and her gorgeous flowing hair was left down in large barrel waves to frame her face.
- Nicole Kidman
The veteran red carpet star is no stranger to the Golden Globes, so it is no wonder the A-List actress gets it right every time. This year for her hairstyle, Nicole Kidman went for an ethereal and rock-and-roll vibe, creating loose waves that she pulled back into a woven half-updo. Her hairstylist originally intended the look to be a complete updo but changed it last minute after seeing it half way done.
A slight shimmer on the brow line and a glowing complexion were the main highlight of Kidman’s makeup look, which was complimented with a matte plum lip. Nicole Kidman is known for her porcelain-like skin and always tends to keep it glowing and shimmery for awards shows.

- Tracee Ellis Ross
This year’s red carpet makeup looks seemed to either feature neutral lips or a red statement lip, and Tracee Ellis Ross went for the latter. A beautiful bright, bold red lip set off the actresses whole look. Her look was all about beautiful skin, and the statement lip complimented her full brow. Her hair, also on trend, was pulled back into a half updo and kept sleek and chic.
