Gracing the cover of Cosmopolitan’s February issue, Hilary Duff is photographed wearing sexy denim Daisy Dukes that would make any Dukes of Hazard fan proud. The Younger star is looking more sexy and confident than ever in her newest photo shoot for the magazine. Newly single, the actress and mother of one talks to Cosmopolitan about her divorce from Mike Comrie, what she’s looking forward to in 2017, and the relationship mistakes she will not repeat. Hilary Duff’s ex-boyfriend, John Walsh, with whom the actress recently broke up with, was a trainer at her gym when the friends first met. Beginning their relationship as just friends, the pair quickly became close and started dating. However, it didn’t last long as once they hit the five-month mark, the couple decided to go their separate ways.
The Cosmopolitan Daisy Dukes cover photo shoot comes just after the actress split from her trainer boyfriend Jason Walsh. What a way to show her ex that she is doing just fine without him! The couple had been dating for just over five months, and in that time managed to cause a stir online at Halloween. The media took aim at the pair over their costumes for the spooky evening. Duff dressed in a skimpy black pilgrim outfit and was pictured on Instagram beside Walsh, who wore a feather headdress and face paint. Fans on Twitter didn’t take kindly to the costumes, calling them, “ignorant,” “racist” and “out of touch,” especially in light of Native American protests against the Dakota Access pipeline. Hilary Duff responded immediately to the public outcry on her Twitter, “I am SO sorry to people I offended with my costume. It was not properly thought through and I am truly, from the bottom of my sorry.” Her apology was well received by fans.
Hilary Duff’s Divorce from Mike Comrie
Duff spoke with Cosmopolitan about her relationship with ex-husband Mike Comrie, with whom she filed for divorce in February 2015. The two have remained close friends and parents to their four-year-old son, Luca. “Mike’s amazing,” she says of the retired NHL star. “We’re so ingrained in each other’s lives. I wouldn’t choose anyone else to co-parent with. We are really good friends and care a lot about each other.”
Hilary Duff’s confident look on the front cover of the magazine is a testament to how she feels. She told Cosmopolitan, “I think I’m a pretty confident person. I’ve had a career for a long time, but I’ve put a lot of unnecessary pressure on myself as a woman, a businessperson, an actress,” she explains. “I’m like, ‘Am I doing enough? Everyone I’ve talked to says you come into your own in your 30s,” she adds. “You feel more secure. I’m looking forward to that.” The actress seems happy even after her split with Walsh, and seems excited to see what the future holds in store for her. She doesn’t seem to be in a rush to get back into another relationship anytime soon, telling the magazine, “I’ve never been a good dater. I meet, like, one person a year that I’m maybe attracted to … I never want to be that girl who’s desperate to find a mate.” We wish her all the luck in her career and relationships in 2017!
