The Honest Company Recalls Organic Baby Powder
Jessica Alba’s Honest Company has recently recalled their organic baby powder sold in the United States due to concerns of eye and skin infections. Alba and co-founder Christopher Gavigan decided to voluntarily recall this product as a result of recent tests that showed possible contamination from microorganisms.
If you’ve purchased this Honest Company product since April 14 it’s advised that you discontinue its use. Fox News posted this the following information for consumers:
“The product is sold in 4 oz. containers with the UPC #817810014529 and has been available in stores since April 14. No other product from the company is affected by the recall, and customers with questions are instructed to call 1-888-688-8653 Monday – Friday 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST, or email email@example.com.”
This recall follows a string of recent difficulties for the company. In 2015 consumers took to social media to complain about the lack of protection from the company’s SPF 30 sunscreen, and a Wall Street Journal investigation later questioned the ingredients in their detergent. The Honest Company also faced a lawsuit that claimed its infant formula was falsely labeled as organic, when it actually contained 11 synthetic ingredients.
Even with all of the conflict surrounding the lifestyle products from this brand, Jessica Alba still manages to draw in a crowd with her new beauty releases!
