Isla Fisher did something quite surprising at the Australian Academy of Cinema Television Arts AACTA Awards 2016 in Australia. The 40-year-old actress mockingly thanked new President elect, Donald Trump, and his wife, Melania. After accepting the Trailblazer Award, Fisher went ahead to deliver her speech. “You work hard for what you want in this life, that your word is your bond, you say what you want to do and you keep your promises, and that you treat people with respect,” said Fisher.
As the audience tried to recollect the originality of the speech she continued saying, “Those are actually Michelle Obama’s words but I figured if Melania Trump can use them and have success, then I should try!” She posted this video of her acceptance speech on Instagram.
In terms of her natural hair color to make a jab at the President elect, the beautiful actress concluded her acceptance by thanking Donald Trump for giving an opportunity to “unqualified, orange people to win things.” She went on to thank the future President of America for laying a foundation which will pave her way to success in the future.
Fisher recollected the days when she had just stepped into Hollywood. Always knowing that comedy was her genre, she was disappointed when she read countless scripts of movies featuring women simply “rolling their eyes” while men were given the funny parts. She also spoke about waiting long to land a meaty role and finally narrowing it down to Wedding Crashers, where she played a bipolar nymphomaniac. She claimed that she would love to do more comedy going forward, and that people actually love women who are funny and want to see more women in comedy movies.
Isla Fisher’s Makeup and Beauty Secrets
Celebrity makeup artist, Katey Denno, loves working with Fisher. The chirpy Australian actress once let Denno experiment with her lip color and was awestruck at the outcome. From there on, there has been no looking back. Always known for wearing a nude lip color which complimented her intricate features perfectly, Fisher now loves bright pinks, deep berries, and bold reds.
For a fresh summer look, the makeup artist uses Dr. Hauschka Kajal Eyeliner in 07 Mellow Sienna along with three shades of eyeshadow to bring out her eyes—Neal’s Yard Remedies Barley and Cocoa shades, and Kjaer Weis’ eyeshadow in Cloud Nine. She finishes it with generous coats of Korres Mascara in Obsidian Black.
For her skin care, Denno uses Ila Face Oil for glowing radiance and follows it up with Soleil Organique 100% Mineral Sunblock SPF 45 to prevent any skin darkening. She then uses Vapour Organic Beauty Atmosphere Luminous Foundation Stick for a flawless complexion, teaming it with Alima Pure Bronzer in Belize for her face, and Alima Pure Satin Matte Blush in Pink for her cheeks.
For Fisher’s lips, Denno starts with a good lip balm for moisturization. She then uses Red Apple Lipstick Pencil to highlight her pout and fills it with a stunning new color from Burt’s Bees lipstick line. She ensures the color does not bleed by tapping her lips with her finger to ensure the color is properly absorbed.
