This time of the year, it is nice to show some Christmas spirit and give back to the community by spreading some holiday cheer. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are two stars that are getting in the festive mood and giving back by helping charities this season. This week, the pair teamed up to dress as Santa and Mrs. Claus, and paid a surprise visit to Los Angeles Children’s hospital, where the stars lead a carol sing-a-long and posed for photos with young patients and their families. Katy Perry’s Instagram has a snap showing the pair clad in their Christmas costumes.

The celebrity duo were there as part of the music therapy program. The hospital offers the program for children needing their spirits lifted thought the amazing benefits of sound. Katy captioned the Instagram snap, “This week Santa and I got to spread some cheer and have a carol sing-a-long with some beautiful children at @childrensla! I love the music therapy program there… it lifts spirits and heals hearts. I know for me, music has always been healing. I hope everyone can give back this season in their own way. That’s the greatest gift of all.”

Donating to Charity

Both Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry have both been involved with charitable organizations for a number of years, and last week the pair also attended UNICEF’s 70th Anniversary event at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. Orlando has been a UNICEF ambassador for over 10 years, and Perry also works with the organization. In their latest charity team up, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom decided to visit the Los Angeles Children’s hospital in an attempt to bring light to the music therapy program within the hospital. Katy is a huge supporter of the program offered in the hospital, and recently spent time in the NICU speaking with families who take part in the therapy.

While attending the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Once Upon a Time Gala, KatyPerry took to the stage and got emotional when speaking to the attendees, “I personally know that music can heal you, and can be a light and bring joy and hope, when sometimes there isn’t.” So, there is no wondering why Perry and Orlando dressed in Santa hats and Santa suits made the surprise visit to the Children’s hospital in support of the music therapy program.

This holiday season has seen the couple getting cozy, starting with the Thanksgiving holidays a few weeks ago. After rumors of Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom possibly splitting up, photos online seem to tell a different story. Photographed in matching red-and-black plaid pajama onesies, the duo showed no sign of a split. According to an unnamed source that spoke with E! Online, the couple are reportedly very happy together, but because of their busy schedules, they often have to travel apart, which may have fueled some of the gossip about their faux split.

“They are planning a vacation for the holidays,” the source said. “The couple are fond of travelling together, as they’ve already visited Hawaii, Italy and France during their one year of dating. As for a Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom engagement, it looks like the couple will be waiting, as they are still trying to make their relationship work amid busy work schedules.
