It seems that Mariah Carey wants a slice of the cosmetics for holiday season 2016. Carey took to her Instagram to reveal that she has teamed for a MAC cosmetics makeup line to bring about her very own MAC cosmetics collection launch just in time for the Christmas season. Carey has previously worked with MAC to design her own lipstick but, this time she will have a MAC cosmetics collection.
So, what can you expect from this MAC makeup campaign? Well, the collection will be comprised of 23 products and will go on sale online as soon as December 8 and sold in stores as of December 15. The collection will include MAC’s Lipstick, LipGlass, Pro Longwear Lip Pencil, Eye Shadow, Liquid Eye Liner, Lashes, Extra Dimension SkinFinish (pressed in the shape of Mariah Carey’s face), Powder Blush, Loose Powder, and shimmery brushes.
The product names are after Carey’s biggest hits including “Touch My Body,” along with being named after beauty icons like Marilyn Monroe; much of the products are also very sparkly, such as the “I get so OOC,” which is a lipstick described as shimmering brown frost. The colors you can expect in the collection range from soft pinks to peach, and even nude shades, so there is definitely something for everyone.
Also in typical Carey fashion, all the lipsticks have a butterfly on them, which is pretty signature for Carey since one of her biggest hits is the song “Butterfly.” What is clearly missing from Carey’s holiday line is a red lipstick. Usually the color red screams holidays, but not for Carey. She purposely left out the color red as she admits she cannot pull it off herself and rather opts for a more natural tone when it comes to coloring her lips.
The collection is modestly priced with lipsticks starting at $20.00, which make them great stocking stuffers for the makeup aficionados on your Christmas list.
Carey has admitted that MAC cosmetics has been a long-time favorite makeup brand of hers, so it was very exciting for her to team up with them in order to put this collection together. Considering that there has been a lot of drama surrounding Carey and her recent break-up from her billionaire fiancé, it’s good to see that she has something to look forward to amidst all the rumors, tabloids, and drama.
Carey has been getting in the Christmas mood since Halloween wrapped up, so far she’s formed a few of her holiday classics for the Canadian retailer Hudson’s Bay Company to launch their Christmas-theme windows. She has even posed with her children in front of holiday decorations. Clearly, Carey’s favorite season must be Christmas.
Although it may seem like you still have a long wait before you can get your hands on the Mariah Carey holiday MAC cosmetic makeup collection, December 8 will be here faster than you think. In the meantime, keep Carey’s tune “All I want” on repeat to get you in the holiday mood.
