Whether you’ve seen her in concert or on ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars, you’re aware of singer-actress Lucy Hale’s talent and style. Recently, PLL’s Lucy Hale has become a surprising inspiration for makeup ideas for the holiday season, with recent postings on Instagram—on both her personal and Vogue pages—of her sporting freckle makeup ideas.
Now her own makeup artist is opening up about the secrets to Hale’s new style and how to achieve it for the holiday season.
Both Instagram posts show Hale wearing uncommon accessories—instead of makeup, she’s sporting glitter and metallic tattoos. Her own Instagram page has her wearing metallic stars in her hair while the Teen Vogue Instagram page shows her wearing glitter freckles. Many fashion writers have noted that, while metallic tattoos and glitter are nothing new to fashion, they’ve also noted how well and seamless Lucy Hale wears them, especially using imagery related to the upcoming holiday season that will no doubt influence others.
Makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan, who works closely with Hale on all of her public and professional appearances, noted that these metallic accessories help to show the natural beauty of her facial features. Deenihan was complimented by the media for applying these glitter bits without any mess on the face. They are easily applicable and disposable for daily use.
Hale is a spokesperson for mark. Makeup by Avon, and the metallic accessories she uses are mark. Makeup products. Deenihan applied the glitter freckles in pairing with muted pink lip and gilded lids—mark.Glow Baby Glow lip gloss and mark.Tough Luxe Eye Shadow to be exact—that provided necessary support accents to the glitter itself. Deenhian has noted how well this gloss supports the glitter so that it’ll stay firm in any sort of public situation. A good reinforcement to metallic tattoos is always needed, especially when those wearing them are on their feet all day.
According to Hale
Along with her mark. Makeup endorsement, Lucy Hale also abides by some other style preferences that influence many fashionistas. She likes short hair and swears by toned down makeup, often on advice from Cindy Miguens, the resident makeup artist on PLL. She also keeps an eye out for other style trends to help improve herself. This includes Lily Collins’ techniques of eyebrow shaping and how to deal with lashes—Kelsey Deenihan is her go-to resource for lashes, as Hale notes she is good with how to keep lash tips bold. For skincare, she regularly gets facials done and uses Dr. Lancer products, including the acne line lotion.
Hale has been known to give kudos to other fashion products that have worked for her. This includes Lucas Paw Paw moisturizing cream, something she special orders from Australia, Touch and Glow bronzer, and concealer by Clé de Peau Beauté. She cites fashion influences from Hollywood stars of previous eras, including Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, and Elizabeth Taylor, as they represent the best kind of “less is more” makeup tips that she’s adopted for herself over time.
