Being a veteran of the Golden Globes red carpet, Reese Witherspoon is always on style when she attends the award ceremony. The 40-year-old actress has walked the famous red carpet many times throughout her career, looking beautiful and seeming to always choose the right gown. This year, the starlet chose a beautiful and elegant Atelier Versace yellow gown, accessorized with a sparkling Tiffany & Co. necklace, pale yellow Christian Louboutin shoes, and a Tyler Ellis clutch.
The elegant Hollywood-looking strapless gown had a thigh-high slit up the front and crossed over pleating effect on the bust. Showing plenty of cleavage and a hint of leg, this was a perfect dress for the star, as she came across as classic and elegant. A sure thing for the best dressed list, Witherspoon proved she is an unstoppable force when it comes to awards shows.
The Golden Globes nominee and winner took to the red carpet to show off her Southern belle charm many times, ensuring that her style is classic and timeless. Winning a Golden Globe in 2006 for Best Actress in Walk the Line, the actress ended her losing streak after being nominated five times for previous other roles.
Reese Witherspoon’s 2007 Golden Globe Dress
Many fans of the actress may recall that this isn’t the first time the star has worn yellow on the red carpet. In a déjà vu moment, fans will recall Reese Witherspoon wearing a yellow dress to the Golden Globes back in 2007. Witherspoon made her return to the red carpet post-divorce from ex-husband Ryan Phillippe in a bright yellow Nina Ricci dress, red Brian Atwood sandals, and new bangs. While the previous dress was shorter and a brighter shade of yellow, perhaps the star used this year’s Versace gown as a nod to the 10-year anniversary of her cocktail dress that was regarded as one of the best Globes looks of 2007.
Makeup artist Molly R. Stern kept Reese Witherspoon’s makeup natural using Chantecaille products to complement her pale yellow dress with soft makeup. After prepping her skin with Chantecaille Pure Rosewater Mist and Future Skin Foundation, the makeup artist gave Witherspoon a soft smoky eye with a mix of shimmering silver metallic eyeshadow shades. Stern completed Witherspoon’s look with a slight pink cheek and a matching soft rose lipstick combining sheer and matte shades, Chantecaille Matte Chic in Marisa, and Chantecaille Lip Chic in Lily.
Hair Stylist Adir Abergel created a low knot that was parted off the side for Witherspoon’s hairdo. Abergel added soft waves to her look, leaving out a few face framing pieces on the right side. For the knot, the hairstylist secured her hair back into a low ponytail and applied Virtue Create One For All 6-in-1 Styler throughout the length of the pony for hold and extra shine. Twisting her ponytail counter clockwise, Abergel secured her hair into a low knot with hair pins and finished with Virtue Create Finale Shaping Spray. Reese Witherspoon’s hair perfectly finished her classic, timeless look for the red carpet.
