Since her days as an MTV Australia VJ, Ruby Rose has been on the cutting edge of style and fashion. Now that she’s branched out into films and TV shows, like Orange is the New Black, more fashion followers are heralding the John Wick: Chapter 2 star as a new style icon. Ruby Rose’s tattoos are of particular interest. Her favorite tattoos are almost their own creative art pieces, and they have a lot of meaning to the star.

Infinite Designs

An obvious enthusiast of body art, the first question people that observe her from afar is: “How many tattoos does Ruby Rose have?” The short answer: a lot. She has them of various sizes and designs all over her body, and they only add to her beauty.

But to be more precise, Rose has at least 21 tattoos. These include various phrases in cursive writing, a cross, cherry blossoms, animals like fish and turtles, objects like keys, hearts, and knives. Rose’s tattoos on her arms are of particular importance to her: a portrait of the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, who died of a drug overdose at age 27, on her left arm; a pouncing tiger on the inside of the right arm. Other tattoos on her arms are the words “Danke Schon”—German for “Thank you”—that was influenced by her friends, and the phrase “Run with wild horses,” that reflects her own individual, slightly rebellious, and arguably trendsetting style.

Recently, after a posting on Instagram, followers have been speculating about Rose’s new back tattoo. From a distance, her latest tattoo is a sort-of color chart tattoo, like the catalogs people see in a paint shop, noting color selections with their designated numbers. Others think it might be a periodic table, but no one is certain. Rose hasn’t confirmed.

Rose’s New Tattoo

Along with speculation about the meaning of her tattoos, in light of the grand new back tattoo she recently unveiled, many have asked the question, “Are Ruby Rose’s tattoos real?” Since they are so intricate and have some complex designs, Rose’s tattoos are often thought to be a mixture of permanent ones mixed with fake.

Well, again, no one is quite certain. Supporters find the accusation absurd, while detractors charge her with fakery and simply adding more ink that isn’t the real deal. Only time will tell, but since she’s a social media enthusiast, fans are staying close to Ruby Rose’s Instagram to see what the future will reveal.
