Last Saturday, Gwyneth Paltrow, Salma Hayek, and her husband Francois-Henri Pinault posed on the red carpet in Gucci at the LACMA Art + Film Gala. And just before the big night, manicurist Ronna Jones took to Instagram to show off Hayek’s makeup preparation.
Hayek (proving that 50 is just a number), wore a tight, semi-sheer black gown as she hit the red carpet for the Los Angeles County of Museum Of Art (LACMA) Art + Film Gala. With her was her prized accessory, fashion executive and husband Francois-Henri (who happens to oversee Gucci at LACMA). They live in London together with their daughter, Valentina Paloma Pinault.
If you’ve ever wanted some skincare tips, then you’re in luck, because Hayek is willing to share! The actress took some time out of her busy schedule to talk to Vogue about her techniques.
“The most important rule in beauty is this: Always wash your face before you go to bed. It’s very important to cleanse at night.”
Hayek speaks the truth, since your face collects oil after a long day out, which is why it’s important to clean it before you go to bed. Hayek uses a chamomile cleanser if she hasn’t been wearing makeup, and an oil cleanser if she is wearing makeup.
“For a good face cream, this is my test: I go back and forth from Los Angeles to Europe many times a year. If I put a cream on before takeoff and my skin survives the drying flight, then it’s a fantastic cream.” Hayek also says to embrace your next day hair and doesn’t get hers done until the third day.
Hayek wasn’t the only A-list celebrity in attendance, she was joined by Gwyneth Paltrow. The 44-year-old Oscar winner wore a black, silk crepe cocktail dress from Gucci’s spring 2017 collection. The dress featured colored sequins in gold, green, and red incorporated around the collar and the sleeves. Her look was finished with a black clutch and knotted gold Gucci sandals, which retail for $795.00 on the fashion label’s web site.
“I do really believe that beauty comes from within, mostly how you feel about yourself and how you express love of yourself, but also in the form of nutrition,” said Paltrow in an Elle magazine interview. Paltrow does have a new Goop skin care line that is comprised of USDA-certified and organic ingredients and free of animal testing.
The sixth annual fundraiser gala was dubbed the“Met Ball of the West,” by Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele. The event was co-chaired by Eva Chow and Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio, honored installation artist Robert Irwin, and Oscar-winning director Katheryn Bigelow.
