Last year was a big year for makeup releases, but we predict 2017 will be even bigger—and that’s saying a lot. Last year saw the launch of Kylie Cosmetics, the revamping of all Urban Decay’s Vice Lipsticks, and popular YouTuber Jaclyn Hill’s Champagne Collection with Becca. However, 2017 has a pretty impressive lineup that we think will rival last year. Keep reading to find out about the latest makeup collections and upcoming makeup releases for 2017!

MAC Makeup Art Cosmetics

MAC is known for the cult classics and for their frequent creative collaborations. Working with celebrities like Ariana Grade, Mariah Carey, and Rihanna, this brand has mastered the art of collaborations. In 2016, they even created a collection that was reminiscent of the 90’s, featuring Trolls! As such, it comes as no surprise that the creative team at MAC decided to team up with three of the most renowned makeup artists, Kabuki, James Kaliardos, and Diane Kendal. Jennifer Balbier, MAC’s senior vice president for Global Product Development, shared:

“Artistry and product innovation are at the core of MAC Cosmetics. For many years we’ve worked with Kabuki, James, and Diane backstage creating makeup looks and providing invaluable new product feedback at countless fashion weeks. It was a natural progression to collaborate with them on their own collections with new products and their favorite shades and tools.”

They haven’t yet released a date for the launch of the 50-piece makeup set, but MAC’s Makeup Art Cosmetics Collection is rumored to be released early this year.

Kylie Cosmetics

Ending the year with a wildly successful holiday collection, Kylie Cosmetics is getting right back at it. She announced the release of her third eyeshadow palette earlier this month. Kylie Jenner’s Kyshadow palette will drop on January 12, and if her other collections are any indication, the Royal Peach Palette will be sold out within the hour. This peach toned palette will include 12 shades, a mirror, and a brush, which is a little more than customers got with her last two palettes.

If you’re in the market for a peachy eyeshadow palette but aren’t feeling Kylie’s, we recommend the (recently re-launched) Too Faced Sweet Peach palette. It comes in a super cute tin package, and features 18 shades that actually smell like peach.

Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick Collection

Earlier this year, Urban Decay revamped their entire Vice lipstick collection, which included 100 shades. You’d think they’d take a little break from the lip products after that venture, but we’re so glad they decided to get right back into it. They’ve announced that they’ll be introducing 30 new shades to their Vice Liquid Lipstick Collection, that will come in two finishes; comfort-matte, or metalized. Claiming to be “waterproof, kiss-proof, and life-proof,” we can’t wait to test out the formula of these lip colors!

Urban Decay shared a short promo video on their Twitter page to celebrate their new additions, featuring Ruby Rose.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics

Jeffree Star is known for his unique style and for taking beauty risks that no one else would. His last makeup palette, released in Spring 2016, boasted large pans of boldly bright colors in frost, matte, and glitter finishes. Sold out in no time, fans couldn’t wait to get their hands on his eyeshadows. Listening to the demands of his followers, Star decided to release his first eyeshadow palette of 2017 early in the year. Set to be launched on March 10, we’re positive that his loyal fans already have their credit cards ready to go!

The Jeffree Star Cosmetics Androgyny Eyeshadow Palette will include shades that Jeffree considers neutral—but what he classifies as neutral is anyone’s guess! He also let fans know that there’d be a bit of a twist. He’s yet to reveal the actual shades in the palette, though we’re sure he’s got some sneak peeks coming our way.

Kat Von D Beauty

Kat Von D has released some amazing beauty products in 2016, like her Metal Matte Palette and the shade extension of her Lock-It Foundation and concealer line. Her first venture of the year was her collaboration with Too Faced—the brands teamed up to create a unique two-part eyeshadow palette and makeup bag collection. She also announced her Everlasting Flash sale concept, which began on January 4. To introduce 25 new shades to her Everlasting Liquid Lipstick collection, she’ll be releasing one shade on exclusively, the first Wednesday of every month for 48 hours. The first shade that’s been released during this flash sale is called Sanctuary, which Allure describes as “a coffee-like hue that’s so ’90s but also incredibly fresh for the winter season.” We’re loving this unique concept, and can’t wait to get out hands on every shade!

Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty Makeup Line

After her successful collaboration with MAC Cosmetics, it’s no surprise that Rihanna is about to launch her own makeup collection. She’ll be working with Kendo, a subdivision of LVMH (who owns Sephora), to create her line. CEO of Kendo, David Suliteanu, said:

“Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is a beauty rocket ship that will appeal to a huge and diverse global audience. We are aiming for the stars.”

Based on the fact that Kendo produced Kat Von D and Marc Jacobs Beauty, we anticipate that her collection will be a huge success—we can barely contain our excitement! Though no information about the types of products Fenty Beauty that will be debuting has been released yet, we have big hopes for their launch.

Caitlyn Jenner’s MAC Collection

Considering the success of Caitlyn Jenner’s MAC Viva Glam Finally Free lipstick shade, we weren’t too surprised to learn that she’d be releasing a full 15-piece set with the brand this year. Caitlyn’s makeup line will feature “elegant, classic shades for the lips, eyes, and cheeks.” With shade names like Tolerance, Compassion, Kindness, and Authentic, we can tell that Jenner has a personal connection with this line and put her all into curating it. Available for purchase January 5, we’re sure her beautifully packaged products will sell out in no time.
